OSAAT Challenge 111 - Here Comes Summer

It's challenge time on the One Stitch At A Time challenge blog and the theme this week is "Here Comes Summer". Our lovely sponsor this week is Creative Craft World who is offering the winner of this week's challenge three brilliant Promarkers.

To win this smashing prize you will need to use one of the hundreds of gorgeous images in the Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps store. If you use a non Stitchy Bear image you will be entered into a draw for a prize of a $3 gift coupon to spend in the store. Using a non Stitchy Bear image you may enter the challenge three times only.

Why not pop along and check out the designs and be ready for our Stitchy Bear only Challenge in June, exciting stuff!

I chose an image from Stitchy and she's called short shorts.  I've used a paper from Polkadoodles and a piece of purple card from my stash for the background and cut her with an oval Spellbinders die.  I've added  three flowers from Wild Orchid and a Memory Box die cut.  The sentiments are computer generated with the lines from a song in the 50's by the Royal Teens.  There's a fascinating article in Wikipedia here  about the guys in this group and how they went on to join some world famous bands.  Apparently the song appears in the stage musical of the Jersey Boys.

Sweet Baby Girl

A good friend had the gift of a new granddaughter at Easter and this is the card I made for her to celebrate Chloe's safe delivery.  I was struggling to find the sentiment I wanted so I posted a request on the MSE's brilliant 'Making Card Ideas' thread to see if anyone knew of it. The next day I found a link that had been left by our fab Padster  and there it was. Spooky or what???? Padster reckons it was the craft angels but I dunno!  Anyway the sentiment is by Paulette of Create with TLC.  I spent a happy hour or maybe two looking at all the brilliant sentiments and this morning has a coughing fit from laughing at her new sentiments.  Please check out Create with TLC, it'll be worth it.

The image is from Funky Kits whose images I adore and it's called Bambino and so very easy to adapt to a boy or a girl.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC, Thank you, Paulette. The background paper is part of First Editions Sweet Owl and I've used one of my new Memory dies for the corners. The flowers and card candy from my ever growing stash.

Red Hat Society Day ~ 25th April

It's the Red Hat Society day on the 25th April and we are celebrating our 14th birthday.  I created this celebratory card with the gorgeous image from Jess of Floppy Latte of 'The Goddess of Class and Elegance and you can find her at StitchyBear Digital Stamps right here. Check out the other gorgeous Floppy Latte digi stamps, they are beautiful.  I creased an A4 sheet of white card into a gate fold and attached three panels of black card.  I've coloured the digi image with a poppy Promarker  and added a few die cuts from Memory Box and Spellbinders.

It's Challenge #109 and the theme is "Bright" over on the OSAAT blog and our sponsor this week with a brilliant prize of £10 GBP is Joanna Sheen.  Pop on over to her website for a taster of what you could be spending your prize money on.

For a chance to win this prize you must use a StitchyBear digital image on your project.  If you to join in the challenge with a non StitchyBear image, you will  be entered into the runner up draw of $3 USD to spend in the online store here, check out the gorgeous images, there's always something new being added.

This card is dedicated to Stitchy's Mom who is a Red Hatter too, have a great day on the 25th, Stitchy's Mom!  I'll be toasting you with tea and cakes on the day.

Of Corsets Your Birthday!

I just had to have the Creative Expressions Vintage Lingerie stamps as soon as I saw them. I bought mine from Julia Watts who has appeared on Create and Craft  TV. Check out her blog here for some great ideas  I've coloured the embossed image with a Blossom Promarker and used some feathers to dress up the corset and give it some frillies.  The background papers are all from my stash and just blended all together.  I know I'm going to use these girly stamps a lot more in the future.  The paper flowers are a Memory Box die and I'm loving the swirls that are left over and nestling in the centre of the flowers are tiny black pearls. I've topped the ends of the swirls with the tiniest of black pearls as well.

New Dress - New Shoes - New Dies!

It's that lovely time of the week when our Choccy pops a new post up and the theme for this week's challenge over at the OSAAT Challenge blog is 'New '. New little one, new home, new job, anything new just for you, I splashed out on some new Memory Box dies

To win this week's prize of 3 sets of die cuts from our  fab sponsor, Crimson Cloud, you must use an image from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. All other entries that do not use a Stitch Bear Digital Stamp will be entered into a draw for a $3 prize that you will be able to spend in the on-line store.

This smashing image from Sylvie that you can find here at Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps store is called Oriental Lady.  She is definitely wearing a new dress with beautiful red shoes to match and showing some leg too.

I've paper pieced her dress to give her figure more definition and coloured it with a Promarker Poppy coloured pen. I've mounted her onto plain and scalloped Nestabilities ovals.  The flowers on the outside of the ovals are my new Memory Box dies and the squiggles are the thin off cuts from the flower die cuts, they were too nice to throw away.
